You know Ben? That baby that we had about 15 months ago? That one that we tried so hard to have his nursery complete before his arrival? Well … we didn’t quite finish all the fun details of his room before he was born, but had the best of intentions of finishing them soon after bringing him home. And you know what? I haven’t done ONE thing in there since he’s been home. Not one. I’ve bought a couple more accessories that are sitting on a shelf waiting for a home, but not one other thing has been done up there.
We started creating a gallery wall above his dresser last year … and the picture frames are STILL empty!! I’ve printed a couple photos that will be used, but I also wanted a fun (and meaningful) printable to hang on the wall. So I started creating a couple one, and ended up with four different printables!
These are all songs I just love, and which I think are so cute for a little one’s nursery. This idea to use song lyrics all began because I wanted something meaningful and special in Ben’s room. My Dad passed away a couple years ago, and one of his favorite bands was the Beach Boys. He loved them, and still … to this day, any Beach Boy song that I hear reminds me of him and makes me happy. At his funeral we played God Only Knows (by the Beach Boys) as one of the three songs in his video (you can see that HERE), and I decided that the lyrics could also make a great Nursery Printable. So here it is:

Just the cute AND meaningful addition to Ben’s (still unfinished) gallery wall. Baby Steps here …
And I couldn’t just stop there. It got me thinking of what other lyrics were meaningful to us AND also cute for a nursery …
I’m a huge fan of country (despite Matt’s best attempts to get me to covert), and have always loved the song My Wish from Rascal Flatts. It’s like they wrote it knowing the lyrics would be perfect plastered on a nursery wall. It’s just about exactly what all parents hope for their children, and a message I would love for my boys to hear:

And then there’s What A Wonderful World. One of ours (Matt and I) faves (and also our first dance song).
And lastly … a song that just popped into my mind when I was making the others: Bob Dylan’s Forever Young. I’m not sure why I’ve never thought of this song for a nursery, but I just love the message:
But then I couldn’t decide which verse was my favorite, so I decided that I would make a printable for all three. Wouldn’t it be cute to hang a trio of these framed lyrics above a dresser or crib?
You can download all three verses to Forever Young HERE
And if you’re looking for even more FREE NURSERY PRINTABLES, check out all these that my friend Sonnet created for View From The Fridge last year:
So … we have one blank picture frame filled. Now I just need to get on the other details and finish his nursery before he’s out of his crib (because then it’s not really a nursery, right?).
Happy Tuesday! See you tomorrow for a healthy recipe idea!
