Industrial LOVE Plaque

Industrial LOVE Plaque from View From The Fridge

I usually love Fridays, but I’m a little sad about this one since tomorrow we have to leave this island paradise and return to the frozen tundra:

While we were stranded on this deserted island, I whipped up some Valentine’s Day decor for y’all!

Ha!  Yeah right … I’m such a LIAR!  I haven’t used a crafty bone in my body for the past two weeks (besides coloring on shells with the boys and constructing some very fancy sandcastles).  I totally made this fun project before we left with some items we had laying around (really … I found all of this in our basement hardware disaster ‘stash’.

I’m sharing the full tutorial at Oh My! Creative today, so stop over and check it out.

And since I know you’re just dying to hear about our trip (humor me here) … look for a post with all the details next week (I know you’ll be holding your breath).

Also … pray for us on the 25+ hour car trip home (with three littles, one dog, and a van jam packed full of sandy stuff).

I have this American Picker-like fascination with elements of junk. “Pieces and Parts” as I call them fill my basement like some demented squirrel has been hoarding nuts. Now I know what to do with my treasures! Stopping by from the SITS Sharefest :)

This is so cute. I did something similar with a pumpkin one year. I HATE pumpkin guts, so I’m always looking for decor that doesn’t require me to scrape out the pumpkin. So one year, I just used random hardware out of the garage and made an awesome pumpkin with a face. Looks like you had a fun vacation. I have three boys also, though mine are all mostly grown now. I miss having little blond boys running around! #SITSSharefest

For an impromptu project this is pretty inventive. Why not have an industrial styled Valentine project? Cute and looks pretty simple, just find right elements. I’m not allowed to delve into hubs goodies, he’s afraid I’ll make a habit of it. That’s if I didn’t half kill myself in shed looking for those elements, eeeeekkk.
Seeing your boys at the beach reminds me so much of my two boys. When we lived in Tucson, they were
so brown with almost white blonde hair. So sweet and precious. They’d get so dirty in back yard (we had really big back yard) I’d have to rinse them off with hose or encourage them to take a quick dip in plastic pool, before they came in house. They’re 16 months apart.
They grow up so quickly and before you know it they’re adults with their own families, those precious years fly by. I have 2 other “kids” also that are both girls, oldest and youngest kids. Enjoy to the fullest precious years with them growing up. You’ll be so glad you did.
Hope your trip home from vacation was fun after all. So many awesome memories.
My kids are now 54, 51, 50, and 44. How did I get so durned old (74)? LOL

Thanks, Jane! Yes … I know it’s so important to enjoy these years! It’s mostly chaos around here, but I try my best to enjoy it. It makes my heart melt when my boys play nice together. I hope they always are close! Thanks for stopping by and for the note! Enjoy your family!
