Easter Kids Table Setting

An adorable Easter Kids Table Setting Idea! DIY napkin rings, Baby Food Jar favors, and a draw on table cloth!! Perfect! Via View From The Fridge

It’s March y’all!!  It’s also the first Monday of the month, which means it’s time for our monthly #MakeIt Challenge.  This month, our theme was all about Easter, and I decided to do a twist on our Kids’ Thanksgiving Table Setting:
An adorable Easter Kids Table Setting Idea! DIY napkin rings, Baby Food Jar favors, and a draw on table cloth!! Perfect! Via View From The Fridge

So … I’ll be honest, this all started with a big crafting fail.  I wanted to make something with toilet paper rolls and twine, and I thought …. “hmmm …. the tube might be an a cute egg holder (because we all need one of those?!?).”  Well … let me show you how it turned out:

mistake

Matt did a double take when he saw that sitting on our shelf.

Anyway … back to my Easter table.  I decided to cut that twine wrapped toilet paper roll in half and back a napkin ring out of it.  I added a couple ears made out of scrapbook paper and hot glued on, some mini pom pom eyes, a pom pom nose, and a cotton ball for a tail.

Now this craft was looking much more promising, huh?

I made four napkins rings … all with slightly different color ears:

Easy, kid friendly, and cute!  Perfect to hold those {paper} napkins for the kiddos!

Now for the rest of the table …

I mentioned in our Thanksgiving Kids’ Table Idea that a good Kids table should have these attributes:

  1. Everything on the table (table cloth, napkins, chairs, etc) must be okay to get completely covered in food.
  2. Ideally, there’s something to entertain the little ones in case they may need to wait … for any amount of time.
  3. Something cute and funny thrown in to get some giggles.
  4. and A sweet treat (that you can use to bribe them to eat their veggies #GreatParentingHere).

Here’s what I came up with:

And another shot:

Just like our Thanksgiving Table, we used a ‘tablecloth’ made of brown kraft wrapping paper (with placemats drawn on).  This along with the crayons serve as the entertainment.  Let them go crazy and decorate their own place setting however they like!  It beats having a table full of impatient, whiny little ones (let me tell ya)!  And as a bonus … the crayons also act as a centerpiece in a clear cup with pom pom fringe hot glued around the edge!

Next, for those ‘sweet treats’ you can use for bribery …

An adorable Easter Kids Table Setting Idea! DIY napkin rings, Baby Food Jar favors, and a draw on table cloth!! Perfect! Via View From The Fridge

I have 679404758 empty baby food jars accumulating in our closet … just begging me to do something with them!  (and, yes … I buy my baby food and I know I should be making it).  I grabbed four jars, peeled off the labels, spray painted the tops white and drilled a hole in the center of each lid large enough for a paper straw.  Then, I simply filled them with jelly beans, added a cupcake liner flipped upside-down for some extra fun and color, and a yarn pom on a straw.  (Yarn poms are super easy to make … click HERE for the tutorial).  I labeled each with the kiddos’ names and tied the label on with some baker’s twine.

and that sounded much more lengthy and difficult than it actually was.

These little jars serve a dual purpose:  a place card holder AND a sweet Easter favor to enjoy (because you should have at least one or two jelly beans on Easter).

Putting it all together, and you get a simple, kid friendly, and adorable kids’ Easter table:
