Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We had just about a perfect weekend … some boating and wake surfing, lots of swimming, and just enough yard work to make us feel like we were also productive!
Since we didn’t do much in terms of blog worthy projects this weekend, I’m just popping in today to share a fun project we made after our Wisconsin vacation a couple weeks ago.
I’m over at Juggling Act Mama today showing you how fun and easy it is to create a custom memory box to keep all your mementoes and souvenirs from your travels!
My boys like to collect (aka hoard) little mementoes when we go on vacation. They like to save brochures, fishing licenses, lucky bobbers, etc. When we were in Florida this Spring, there was even more to collect. These little memory boxes are a great way to collect and organize all that stuff … and they are cute enough to keep on display for when they feel like reminiscing!
You can head over to Juggling Act Mama now to see the full tutorial:
Now … because I know you’re dying to hear about our Wisconsin Cabin Vacation a couple weeks back (ha!), here’s a quick recap:
Matt’s parents have started a tradition … 5 years and running, of renting a cabin for a week each summer for Matt’s sister and her family, our family, and them to relax, unwind, and spend some good quality grandparent/grandchild/cousin/aunt and uncle bonding time.
This year was a bit quieter, as it ended up being just our family and Matt’s parents, but it was still a great time! We rented a cabin on Lake Nebagamon in Norther Wisconsin, about 20 miles east of Duluth/Superior area (VRBO listing HERE). It was a gorgeous lake, and the cabin was completely redone on the inside and perfect for us!
Ben seemed happy to be here:
There was a pontoon for us to use, and we put it to good use:
We did a lot of fishing:
Ben did a lot of scooting around the pontoon while his brothers fished … and a lot of snacking with Grandma
There was also a canoe that we were able to use:
Matt and I even got to take it out sans kids for a bit one morning …
One of the days, we took a trip to Bayfield, Wisconsin … and adorable little town on the shores of Lake Superior.
We found a small little beach in Bayfield, and decided to take a quick dip.
And … since Matt challenged me to jump in, too …. I obliged and dove in (and quickly ran back out … ). While we were at the beach, a plane was circling, then landed in the lake right next to us, and pulled up on our beach. The boys thought it was the coolest thing ever …
We also relaxed in the evenings and watched a couple movies …
And had plenty of S’mores by the campfire:
On the way back home, we stopped in Duluth for lunch and just a little sightseeing.
Thanks for another great vacation, Deb and Steve!
Thanks for stopping by today!
