Why would you ever want to make your own cloth napkins? Well … I’m not really sure except that you CAN. And you can pick out just the perfect fabric for your occasion. And because you love fabric. And hoard it. And look for projects to make with it. And because they’re really not that hard. Other than that … I’m just not sure.
I really does seem a bit silly … just ask my husband (he thinks this project was a bit, well … unnecessary). And really, it was unnecessary, but it’s my hobby and satisfied my need to ‘make stuff’ for a bit.
I read a bunch of tutorials on how to sew napkins and get that mitered corner look. It’s hard to describe in words and pictures, but I finally figured out how to do it (and it’s simple!!). I worked hard on explaining it in my tutorial with pictures, lines, and words. Once you get one figured out, you’ll be able to whip the rest out in no time!
Here’s how they turned out:
Pretty nice, huh? For fall this year we’re going much more neutral with black, white, grey, and just a couple pops of orange, and these napkins are the perfect addition to our Fall table!
Happy Labor Day, my friends! I hope your weather is as gorgeous as the weather we’re having in Minnesota today!!
