Baby Ben’s Photo Project

July 9, 2014
1 DAY-700

I don’t have any fun crafts or diy projects for you today.  I don’t have any kids activities.  And I’m not featuring any fabulous bloggers today.  Sorry.

What I DO have, though, is lots of cute pictures of our sweet baby Ben!

His room may not be complete.  Our house might be a mess disaster.  And we may not have clean clothes to wear (at least not put away in our closets and/or drawers), but I have somehow found the time to take gazillions of pictures of our newest little guy!

Now … if you’re a fan of Young House Love, you’ll know that I’m shamelessly proudly ripping off their ‘photo project’ idea (see Clara’s photo project here, and new baby Teddy’s here).

The idea is simple … photograph your baby weekly on cute fabric or with a cute background to document his growth.  I stumbled upon this idea when Charlie was about 6 months old and was so sad we didn’t do it with him (or with Owen).  When I found out we were preggo with #3 here, one of the first thoughts that came to my mind was … ‘we gotta do that weekly photo project thing like the Petersik’s’.  Seriously, my thoughts went like this …

I’m pregnant? What?!?!

I wonder if it’s another boy?

I wonder what Vegas is like without Alcohol? (we were headed there a week after finding out that Ben was on the way … read more about that here and here).

I’m totally doing that photo project thing from Young House Love.

We need a new car.

I can’t wait to design the nursery (that’s still not done 10 months later, by the way).

and …

well, you get the picture.

Needless to say, I was pumped to start documenting this baby week by week!  Well … here’s the results to date:

Any other picture ideas I should be doing with Ben? Did you photograph your babies weekly? Monthly? Daily?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I LOVE this! When you are with them each and every day, you don’t always realize how much they are growing and changing. These pictures are a great way to document Ben’s growth. He is adorable!

I did this for my little girl too! You can see her pics here…

Then, I turned the fabrics into a quilt and used the scraps for her first birthday party decor that you can see here…

Can’t wait to see your completed year! I love the fabrics you have chosen so far. :) Following on insta. 😉

Hey Courtney! I’m still getting used to it! Some days are great … others are ‘challenging’. The two older boys are quite a handful at times! Any tips you have, throw ’em my way!! Are you guys gonna have a 4th (people are already asking me … ha!).

Okay… you have got to stop with all the baby cuteness! I’ve already got my own three little people but all these precious pictures are making me wish I could time travel back to when they were cuddly and squishy!

No really, thank you for sharing your sweet baby Ben with all of us. I love seeing him grow! 😉

Thanks so much for sharing on Show-Licious!

I love the font used on the chalkboard! Can you tell me the name of it? This is such a cute idea for taking weekly pictures of the new baby 😉

    • Reply Katie October 29, 2014 at 8:18 pm

Hi Dawn! I use Picmonkey to edit my pictures, and its the ‘sketch block’ font that they have that I use. I also use the ‘fade’ tool to make it look just a bit more like it’s actually chalk! Thanks for the note! Hope that helps!
