{Anthropologie Inspired} Heart Towels

January 13, 2014

And I’m back stalking Anthropologie …

I.  cant.  help.  it.

They just have the cutest random items.  How cute are these simple, sweet dish towels???

Anthropologie Heart Towel

I think that part of the appeal of some of their products is the simplicity.  This just happens to also be convenient for DIY’ers, as well!  Cheers to that!!

Our version?  Here it is …

So, what do you think … close to the inspiration??  Close enough for our kitchen {for a month}

Here’s what you need:

  • White dish towel(s).  Ours came from Target … obviously!
  • Ribbon and/or rick rack in pinks and reds (or any color of your choice)
  • Double sided fusible web.
  • Iron

Here are the simple steps:

8 Simple Steps!

  1. Cut ribbons to size.  I started with the middle ribbon first.  From there, I cut two of each ribbon to the same size for each side of middle ribbon and worked outwards.
  2. Lay ribbons in place on towel to make sure you like the layout.
  3. Peel off one side of the fusible web (to expose the somewhat sticky side).
  4. Stick ribbon pieces onto the fusible web.
  5. Cut around each ribbon as best you can
  6. Peel back off fusible web to expose the other sticky side.
  7. Stick ribbon pieces to towel in the arrangement you decided earlier
  8. Flip towel over and iron over the ribbon pieces (fusible web is activated by the heat)

That’s it!  A quick, half hour project that adds a little color to your kitchen!

Katie great job, I actually stopped by their site for the first time today. I’ve been wondering what this Anthropologies site is all about. I’ve never even heard of it before. But they have a lot of great stuff. You did a spot on job with this towel. I know it’s going to be featured on a lot of sites.

Your going to have to do a Anthropologies round up post pretty soon!!

    • Reply Katie January 14, 2014 at 3:03 am

Ha Ha, Courtney! I have one more project I’m ‘stealing’ from them for next week. I swear I don’t purposely set out to see what projects I can rip off of theirs :)

Oh, and by the way … wait for Antrho’s sale! It’s usually pretty good. I don’t ever buy anything full price from there!!
